SAVE 15 ZAMORA ST!
Stop the demolition of the 1800's historic home at 15 Zamora St. 02130 in Jamaica Plain!
15 Zamora St. is a historic property in Jamaica Plain. It was built by the Curtis Family and was owned by Nelson Curtis and later by Edwin Curtis (former Boston Mayor and Police Commissioner). It predates most of the buildings in the area and can be found on property maps dating back to 1899, when much of the current neighborhood was still farmland and vacation houses for Boston's well-to-do families. This building adds an irreplaceable historic charm and uniqueness to the neighborhood.
Recently an application to demolish the historic property was filed with the Boston Landmarks Commission. Though the building could use some TLC, it would be a shame to see it torn down and replaced with cookie cutter buildings simply meant to maximize profit.
